PAB is an architectural practice aiming to explore architectural and urban potentials through flexible research and design forms.
PAB is founded by Pınar Gökbayrak, Ali Eray and Burçin Yıldırım in 2007 in Istanbul. With their varying backgrounds, office partners have worked in a number of fields such as architectural design projects, construction site practices, various research projects and architectural publications while keeping architecture at the core.
pabedu is founded in 2016 that brings together experts from different fields of the educational ecosystem to design innovative learning environments and school buildings with the leading role of PAB Architects: www.pabedu.com
Following global innovations through a questioning and progressive approach, PAB Architects keeps on designing with local input and global perspectives together with the multidsciplinary approach of the office.
OFFICE
Pınar Gökbayrak
Born in Istanbul. After completing her secondary education in Uskudar American Academy, she graduated from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture in 2004. During her undergraduate years, she studied in Eindhoven Technical University as an Erasmus student. Gokbayrak conducted her postgraduate studies at Istanbul Technical University and was awarded with her thesis by Architecture Foundation in 2nd Architectural Researches Anthology. She worked as the project coordinator in Arkitera Architecture Center in 2003-2006 for various national and international projects.
Besides her awards in national and international competitions, her articles and projects are published in various architectural magazines and books. She is the recipient of Arkitera Young Architect Award in 2015. She was invited to “Architects Meet in Fuori” presentations in 13th Venice Architecture Biennale. She was the editor-in-chief of Betonart magazine in 2003-2012. She has been a jury member in various universities and lectured in Osmangazi University and in Istanbul Technical University. She is currently lecturing in Ozyegin University in her design studio. She is the publication coordinator of Arketon Books.
She pursues her professional practice since 2007 in PAB Architects with her partners, Ali Eray and Burçin Yıldırım.
Ali Eray
Born in Istanbul. After completing his secondary education in German High School Istanbul, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture in 2003. After completing his postgraduate studies in Delft Technical University in 2005, he worked in several architectural offices such as MArS Mimarlar, UN Studio, Tabanlıoğlu Mimarlık.
Along his awards in national competitions, he has been a jury member in various universities. He is the recipient of Arkitera Young Architect Award in 2015. He was invited to “Architects Meet in Fuori” presentations in 13th Venice Architecture Biennale. Besides his published projects in various architectural magazines and books, he was a member of the editorial board of Betonart magazine in 2008-2012.

Burçin Yıldırım
Born in Istanbul. After completing his secondary education in Istek Acibadem High School, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University Faculty of Architecture in 2004. During his undergraduate years, he studied in Eindhoven Technical University as an Erasmus student. Yıldırım worked in several architectural offices during his postgraduate studies at Istanbul Technical University.
Along his awards in national competitions, he has been a jury member in various universities and was a lecturer in Osmangazi University in 2011.
